On 16 February 2025, Minister for Education the Hon Jason Clare MP announced that Dr Charlotte Keating and Dr Jo Robinson have been appointed co-chairs of the Anti-Bullying Rapid Review in Australian schools.

The Anti-Bullying Rapid Review will consult broadly with key stakeholders across Australia, including those in schools, parent groups, state education departments and the non-government sector. The review will look at current school procedures and practices to address bullying and will report to education ministers with options for the development of a shared set of standards.
Dr Keating is a mental health advocate and a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD in Neuroscience.
Dr Robinson leads the suicide prevention research unit at Orygen, which is regarded as the leading centre of youth suicide research in the world.
Both Dr Keating and Dr Robinson have extensive experience addressing issue challenging students and young people, including work on bullying and cyberbullying.
The review will build on the work already being progressed by states and territories to address bullying in schools, with the aim of solidifying a national approach to support school students and give parents confidence that bullying will be managed in an effective and nationally consistent way.
Minister Clare said, “Bullying is not just something that happens in schools, but schools are places where we can intervene and provide support for students.
“All students and staff should be safe at school, and free from bullying and violence.”
“That’s why we’re taking action to develop a national standard to address bullying in schools.”
Recommendations from the review are expected to be reported to Education Ministers in the second half of 2025.
